Volkswagen Multivan eHybrid

For businesses with a mix of short and longer journeys, a plug-in hybrid can provide useful day-to-day flexibility. The Multivan eHybrid 4MOTION pairs an 85kW electric motor with a 1.5 TSI petrol engine and can travel up to 57 miles in pure electric mode. That means many local journeys can potentially be completed using electric power, while the petrol engine is there when the route goes further. Charging from a home wall box takes around five and a half hours for a full charge. For operators, the benefit is a vehicle that can make electric driving practical without restricting longer-distance use.

Passenger vehicles often need to work across different routes, weather conditions and operating demands. The Multivan eHybrid adds 4MOTION all-wheel drive, helping provide traction and control when conditions become more challenging. It also offers a towing capacity of up to 1,600 kg, giving the vehicle additional usefulness when a trailer forms part of the job. Combined with its hybrid powertrain, this makes the eHybrid more than a vehicle for straightforward local journeys. A passenger vehicle is more valuable when its interior can change with the job. The Multivan offers space for up to seven seats, with five rear seats that can be moved or removed. Removing the rear seats creates additional luggage space, while the long-wheelbase model provides further load-carrying potential.  

Busy working days are easier when the vehicle is designed around simple access and practical use. Two sliding doors are standard on the Multivan, making it easier for passengers to enter and leave from either side. The available Easy Open Package can also open the rear or side doors using a foot movement when the key is recognised, useful when your hands are occupied. Inside, the movable multifunction table can be positioned between different seating rows or used between the front seats, with storage and cup holders built in.  

The Multivan includes Adaptive Cruise Control as standard across the range, using front radar to help maintain a set distance from traffic ahead. Front Assist with City Emergency Braking is incorporated into the system, while Car2X can share information with compatible vehicles to provide warnings about traffic, roadworks, accidents and emergency vehicles. A 10-inch Digital Cockpit and 10-inch infotainment display are also standard.
