Volkswagen Crafter Single Cab

The Crafter Single Cab provides a chassis designed to accommodate specialist body conversions. Volkswagen highlights applications including tippers, refrigerated vehicles and tow trucks, with approved converters available for more tailored requirements. Additional equipment can also support bodies requiring extra electrical power, cooling equipment or specific control functions. For operators, this means the vehicle can be specified around the job rather than forcing the operation to adapt around a standard van.

When a vehicle is regularly carrying colleagues, clients or passengers, interior comfort becomes part of the overall experience. The Multivan combines a spacious cabin with a car-like driving feel, premium-quality materials and an ergonomically arranged cockpit. Flexible, lightweight seats make it easier to change the interior layout, while optional comfort seats can add memory and massage functions. A movable multifunction table can be positioned between different seating rows or used as a centre console between the front seats, providing useful storage and a practical surface for working while travelling.

The Crafter Single Cab is available as a medium wheelbase model measuring 5,996 mm, a long wheelbase version measuring 6,846 mm and a long wheelbase maxi measuring 7,211 mm. Each Single Cab configuration provides space for up to three people.

The Crafter is available with front-wheel drive, rear-wheel drive or 4MOTION all-wheel drive. Front-wheel drive provides a lower loading sill and strong payload capability. Rear-wheel drive is designed to support heavy loads and can provide towing capacity of up to 3.5 tonnes, while 4MOTION provides additional traction for surfaces such as muddy construction sites and dirt tracks. An optional eight-speed automatic transmission can also be combined with all three drive systems, allowing businesses to choose a configuration suited to their day-to-day operation.

The Crafter chassis cab includes Front Assist with City Emergency Braking, which can identify vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists ahead and provide braking assistance when required. Standard Electromechanical Servotronic steering helps with precise vehicle control, while features including Lane Assist, Park Assist and Rear Traffic Alert are also available. Standard systems such as Hill Start Assist, Electronic Stabilisation Programme and ABS provide further support.

The Crafter Single Cab accommodates up to three people and offers several seating options, ranging from basic seats to optional comfort and suspension seats. The available ergoComfort suspension seat provides extensive adjustment and can also be equipped with heating and massage functions. Practical storage areas provide space for bottles, files and tools, while USB-C ports, Bluetooth connectivity and 12 V sockets help drivers keep devices connected.
