This year marks a significant milestone as Brian Currie celebrates 50 years since starting the business that has grown into one of the UK’s leading DAF Truck dealers
What began in 1975 with a small workshop and a single van in Newport Pagnell has developed into a business employing more than 200 people across eight locations, supporting thousands of customers throughout Buckinghamshire, Bedfordshire, Northamptonshire and beyond.
From starting as a one man band, the business has grown, reaching an important milestone in 1982 when it became an authorised DAF Truck Service and Sales Dealer. That same year, Brian Currie (Milton Keynes) Ltd was formally established, laying the foundations for the company we know today.
Growth continued throughout the following decades, with the construction of the company’s current headquarters in Milton Keynes in 1986, expansion into Northampton in 1993, entry into the light commercial vehicle market in 1997 and the acquisition of additional sites across Bedfordshire and Northamptonshire. More recent investments have included the opening of TRP Parts locations, the UK’s first TRP Service Plus Centre in Daventry, a dedicated Van Centre PDI facility, and becoming one of the first dealers in the UK to represent the innovative Farizon electric van brand.
Despite this continued growth, one thing has remained unchanged: Brian Currie Ltd continues to be a family-run business. Today, Brian serves as Chairman, while his children, Heather and Philip Currie, continue to play key roles within the company, helping to uphold the values of customer service, integrity and long-term relationships that have been at the heart of the business for five decades.
To mark this special anniversary, the company has lovingly restored a replica of Brian’s original service van in its distinctive bright orange livery. The restoration serves as a tribute to where it all began and stands as a reminder of how far the business has come over the past 50 years.
While the anniversary provides an opportunity to reflect on the company’s proud history, Brian Currie Ltd remains firmly focused on the future. Recent investments in a 200kW solar PV installation at its Milton Keynes headquarters, alongside plans for high-powered EV charging facilities, demonstrate the company’s ongoing commitment to sustainability and supporting customers as the commercial vehicle industry transitions towards lower-emission transport.
As technology, legislation and customer requirements continue to evolve, Brian Currie Ltd remains committed to investing in its people, facilities and services to ensure customers receive the highest levels of support for many years to come.
This milestone would not have been possible without the loyalty of our customers, the support of our suppliers and the dedication of past and present employees who have all played a part in the company’s success. We would like to thank everyone who has been part of our journey over the last 50 years.
